General Information

Applying for Visa, a Tourist Card or Entry Fee through the online application system can be done from the comfort of your home at any given time of day. This includes submitting all required documents and payment of fees from your desktop, laptop, or mobile phone. If your eVisa is approved, it will be forwarded to your registered email address.

The whole process is electronically (applying / payment / issuance of Visa, Tourist Card or Entry Fee), is time saving, and takes place within a user friendly and secure environment.

The decision to grant entry visas for Suriname is entirely at the discretion of The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Business and Cooperation. VFS Global cannot guarantee that your eVisa application will be approved. The ultimate decision for further access to Surinamese territory lies with the Immigration Service at the airport.

No, there is no minimum browser requirement. The website can be accessed from all browsers and devices.

If you provide an incorrect e-mail address, you will not receive a Login link. Thus, your data will not be properly recorded and you have to apply once again.

Although it is possible to apply as a family, each application is analyzed separately. If your eVisa was denied, you can reapply for another eVisa (but the rest of your family can travel)

Visa Information

All eVisas or Entry Fee vouchers are sent to the email address informed at the time of registration. The eVisa or eTouristcard will also be available for download in PDF format when you login to the Suriname eVisa website.

Working days are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, except for Public Holidays. For the list of public holidays click here

All visitors must have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure from Suriname. If your passport validity is less than 6 months, you have to renew your passport before you can apply for an eVisa. The passport should also have at least 1 blank page for use by the Immigration Officer.

Applicants should at least have a Surname to apply for Surinamese eVisa or eTourist Card.

If your eVisa was issued with incorrect information, contact our staff. Please note that the amount of time to correct the eVisa will depend on the type of error.

The eVisa can be issued for single and multiple entries.
The Single Entry Fee is valid for 1 Entry and the Multiple Entry Fee for 5 entries within a period of 3 months

Passport holders of all nationalities are eligible to apply for eVisa except passport holders of nationalities from countries who have signed a visa waiver agreement with the Republic of Suriname.

Yes. All applicants, including children and infants must have a visa to enter Suriname, if they are visa required.

Provided that all required documents are submitted correctly, visas can be issued within 72 hours from your application payment. If your application exceeded five working days, please contact us.

In case of dual/multiple citizenship, you must select the passport you will use to travel and enter Suriname and use the corresponding passport to apply for eVisa or Entry Fee. There must not be any inconsistencies between the passport information and the data provided on the eVisa or Entry Fee voucher.

If you lose your eVisa, you can reprint it by accessing it from your e-mail.

The decision to grant or deny visas is entirely at the discretion of the Surinamese authorities.

Steps to apply for eVisa or Entry Fee

To apply for a Suriname eVisa or Entry Fee, you must have a valid passport from one of the nationalities as listed under section: "who can apply"?

Answer the set of questions asked during the visa application process
Depending on the purpose of your travel you need to upload documents click on Document Information
After your application is complete, you will receive an email within 72 hours with the result of your visa application."

It is not mandatory for the Credit / Debit card to be in the name of the applicant.

Yes, the eVisa fee is the same for infants, minors and adults.

The Visa fee and service fee as levied to the applicant are non-refundable.

Contact VFS Helpdesk if a fee was accidently paid twice for a single application.

There could be multiple reasons for not receiving a confirmation for the payment.
The payment was not successful
The internet connection was lost during the transaction
Your card is not a 3D secure card

We request you to check your bank statement to confirm that the payment was successful. If the payment was successful you can contact us with a scanned copy of your bank statement. Else you may try making the payment again, using a different browser or using a different card.

If you do not submit the additional documents within 30 days, your eVisa will be denied and you will have to start a new application. Fees paid will not be refunded.

Application Status

You can track your application by accessing here. We will send you an email once your visa application has been approved or rejected, or if any additional information is required. You may login to your account on the Suriname eVisa website to check status notifications.
