You may apply for this Short Stay (MKV) visa if your purpose of travel to Suriname is employment or labour‑related activities on a short‑stay basis. This category applies to applicants who have obtained employment or professional engagement with an organisation in Suriname.

Mandatory Documents Required

Passport Cover Page

A clear scanned copy of the cover page of the applicant’s passport.

Passport Bio Page

A copy of the passport biodata page showing personal details and photograph.

Scan of written or stamped pages of last 3 visits
Birth Certificate (Legalised)

An official birth certificate of the applicant, duly legalised by the competent authorities.

Certificate of Good Conduct

A police clearance certificate issued by the Police Department, duly legalised.

Medical / Health Certificate

A recent medical report or health certificate issued by a recognised medical authority, not older than three (3) months.

Valid travel insurance/health insurance (you need to submit this document after the MKV has been approved).
Employment Invitation Letter

Official employment invitation or contract letter issued by the employer in Suriname.

Reference Letter (New Employer)

Confirmation letter issued by the employing organisation.

ID Card (referent)
Company Profile / Resume

Issued by the Suriname Chamber of Commerce.

Business Licence

Valid business licence of the employing company.

Educational Diplomas & Certificates

Legalised copies translated into English or Dutch.

Job Description & Requirements

Document outlining role, responsibilities, and qualifications.

Curriculum Vitae (CV)

Updated CV of the applicant.

Marital Status Documents (If Applicable)

Legalised marriage or partnership documents.


The processing time of the eVisa may take up to 72 hours. If your application has exceeded five (5) business days, please contact us.

  • The period validity of the E-Visa will be mentioned on the E-Visa. The Single Entry Fee is only valid for one single entry.
  • The maximum stay on all visa categories is no longer than 90 days.
  • Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months from the date of departure from Suriname and should have at least 2 page available for the entry stamp of the Immigration department.
  • Your air ticket must be a round trip.
  • Your accommodation address in Suriname should be verifiable.
  • You should have sufficient means of living to support your stay in Suriname.

"The photograph to be uploaded must be 3x4 cm in size:
Your visa application photograph must meet certain criteria regarding size and content. Submitting photos that do not meet these criteria can delay the visa application process. If your photo does not meet the requirements, you will have to provide new photographs before your application can be processed.

As soon as you arrive in the Republic of Suriname with the approved E-Visa, follow the steps mentioned below:

  • present your passport to the Immigration officer
  • present your eVisa/Entry Fee voucher to the Immigration officer

When you arrive, you will need to clear the Immigration and Customs procedures. Please completely fill out the online Immigration and Customs form (ICF form) and present it to the Immigration officer.
